Meet Our Panellists

Our panellists are coming from different background. Here, we would like to have a brief introduction about them.

Matthias Gelber is a Co-Founder of Maleki GmbH, a German company specialising in high performance, low carbon footprint construction materials. Matthias also serves as an Environmental Chief Officer of New Era Energy, a company which using the blockchain technology to enable a decentralized system to increase transparency and credibility, and to create a global benchmark for emission recording and reporting. Dubbed as the greenest man on earth, Matthias is an accomplished speaker and trainer on environmental issues and loves giving green talks to corporates, government organisations and schools in the South East Asian region.

Steve McCoy is the Founder and Principal of Counterpoint, a consultancy firm giving support services on sustainability for the Corporate, Government and Non-profit sectors. Steve loves creating 'aha' experiences around the business case for sustainability and translating visionary strategies into actionable steps to close the gap between good intentions and performance.

Khairun Nisa Mohamed Zabidi is currently working with PwC Malaysia's sustainability team as a Sustainability Consultant in corporate responsibility, sustainability reporting and social and environmental advisory for the Southeast Asian region. Khairun Nisa interest and expertise centres on CSR, green public policy and building capacity for the mitigation and adaptation of climate change. In the past, she co-founded the Malaysian Youth Climate Justice Network (now the MYD) and zero-waste social enterprise the Recovr Initiative.

The Gravy Factory : Words from the Management

In the heart of Brickfields, this lively eatery has been serving up crowd pleasing local and Western dishes since 2014. Located on Level 5 inside NU Sentral Shopping Centre, with a sunset view overlooking Bukit Persekutuan, it’s the go-to place to unwind with coffee after work, or dinner before a movie.

We combine attentive service, mouth-watering meals, reasonable prices, and friendly staffs. All of these are done with the purpose of customer satisfaction in mind.

Our menu is an evolving selection of Hainanese Western classics. Best-selling Hainanese Chicken Chop is served with tangy pineapple sweet and sour sauce, potato wedges, and salad. Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah, an all-time Malaysian favourite, also come highly recommended.

Green Drinks KL (Season 2) : Looking Back, Looking Forward

Greetings from Green Drinks KL Team!

Green Drinks KL (Season 2) is back! Come, grab a drink/food and mingle with environmentally-minded people. Details as below:

Venue    :   The Gravy Factory, Level 5, Nu Sentral (Beside KL Sentral)

Green Drinks is a monthly gathering (held on first Thursday of every month) as an informal international networking initiative to connect environmentally minded people and professionals. It is a simple event with no formality. The main goal is to have some valuable conversations in an informal setting.

The founders of Green Drinks KL back in 2009, namely Matthias Gelber (Green Man), Steve McCoy and Khairun will be with us to share their Green Drinks experiences!

The Gravy Factory is located at Nu Sentral, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, and it is accessible by public transport, namely LRT, MRT, Monorail, KTM and ERL. So let’s reduce our carbon footprint where possible! The Gravy Factory has basic supplier Halal certification and no alcohol will be served here. We welcome friends from all walks of life to join the event. Besides, they have vegetarian choices too!

Students will be given 15% discount for the drink and/or food you ordered, courtesy of the generous owner. Just bring your valid student card for verification.
